Welcome to the crew.. We are located in Morrison, Co or roaming around the country in the toy hauler with the crew. I have had a water dog in my house since 1992. They have always been loving loyal family members first and foremost. I started breeding in 2003 and have 6 generations of health tested, working champions on the ground now. We always have well planned, health tested, litters with the intent of breeding for the betterment of the breed. The crew has titles in conformation, agility, water work, nose work, therapy work, tracking, and dock diving. We have been blessed with several nationally ranked show and agility dogs. We have also had several of our therapy dogs receive awards for their work with children, elderly, and special needs students. I have personally had a Aspencove therapy dog at work with me for over 2 decades. Our crew has been honored multiple times as a top 10 breeding program by our national club.

Current crew.. Prince Edward Island, CN

PLEASE READ: When looking for a breeder IT DOES matter that the dogs are shown in conformation, obedience, agility, water, and any AKC event. That is proof from trained judges that the dog meets the breed standard, has characteristics of why you chose a water dog. It is one of the many quality controls a great breeder uses. It matters that they are completely health tested. Hips , eyes( annually), and the current recommended pwdca club recommended tests. Go to national site pwdca.org for additional information. Many back yard breeders are doing the embark or other 130 dollar tests and telling perspective buyers their dogs are tested. You can do the same test on a pound puppy… The pwdca recommended tests are specific to our breed. Ask to see hips, annual eye tests. Ask about their longevity in the breed , it matters many breeders have generations( decades) in this breed. We know our lines, and are here for the long haul. If a breeder lets you pick a puppy by a picture on the internet RUN…. Every puppy like human beings have different personalities. Water dogs can run the spectrum from high drive, high strung to laid back. Ask any breeder why they are breeding? If it’s for anything but betterment of the breed then they are a back yard breeder. You get to interview the breeder and please do… They should also be asking very specific questions of you based on what we know about the breed, the specific puppy, and they should be matching puppies based on the information they gather. You should make multiple visits to their house. Are they using any up to date curriculums, research based training activities during the first 8 weeks? Are the puppies temperament tested by an accredited tester? A quality breeder will have waiting lists not a website to reserve a puppy by a picture, Venmo for a deposit. A great breeder uses frozen semen, dogs from all over the country to build / replicate the traits they are trying to improve upon their decades old breeding program. NOT two dogs in the house because they are there. Every litter is well planned and many take a decade to come together. my rant… we are getting way too many poorly bred water dogs in shelters because of poor breeders trying to make a buck off of my beloved breed. 😞

WARNING:

WE HAVE AT LEAST 2 BACK YARD BREEDERS/ PUPPY MILLS IN COLORADO. ONE IN THE SPRINGS AND ONE ON NORTH EASTERN PLAINS. BEWARE… THEY WILL ALWAYS HAVE PUPPIES, MULTIPLE LITTERS, LET YOU PICK BY PICTURE.. IT DOESNT MATTER WHAT COLOR THEY ARE IF YOU CANT LIVE WITH THEIR PERSONALITY!!!!! This breed isn’t for everyone.. Research, ask questions, look for health testing on OFFA.ORG .
